I am Estelle Brooks born May 11, 1953 to Alvin and Carol Brooks. I have 4 sisters and 1 brother (deceased). Growing up with 6 kids in the 60’s most parents focused on just feeding their children regularly versus healthy eating. I had always worked out in my twenties, thirties and forties, but I started looking at my life differently at the age of 50. I realized how important it was to get my life and health in tune with one another. I joined the Raytown YMCA and started working out consistently five days a week at 6am. I felt 100% better physically and mentally. I fell in love with exercising and eating healthy. I made it a priority and diligently worked to become a certified fitness instructor.'step aerobics, Zumba,'etc.
Today I am a high-energy Certified Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds for over 25 years helps me to correlate the importance of physical activity as it relates to an individual’s mental health status.
